Something I was asking myself earlier: if we're living in the age of third-wave feminism, where women are encouraged to ride the carousel and all those who judge her for it are "insecure assholes stuck in the 50's", why is it that many women will occasionally click into "purity mode" and put up LMR, and/or lie about their past promiscuity in order to appear pure and innocent?

This is an issue which gets discussed here occasionally, and I think it merits an official discussion.

"To slut or not to slut" is a question raging in every woman's mind. There is a tug-of-war going on in their minds, pulling them in many different directions.

On the one hand, you have feminist blogs and media saying "sleep around, have fun, live life! And no one gets to call you promiscuous for it, because if they do, they're anti-progress!"

Then in addition to that, you have the fact solipsism makes women think that preselection applies to men's mind's the same way it applies to women's.

If I, as a man, can demonstrate to a woman that I have banged 20 chicks, she'll think I'm alpha as fuck and she'll be more inclined to want to get into bed with me. After all, at least 20 chicks have already prescreened me, and determined that I am genetically pure enough to be a father-candidate for their children.

Solipsist women often assume that this same thing works in reverse: if a woman can demonstrate to me that she's taken 20 different cocks in various different orifices, surely that means that I'll be inclined to think more of her, right? Surely that will make her more attractive?

Of course not. For us guys, our attraction is much more basic. We see, we like, end of story. But something a lot of women fail to grasp, seeing as they expect all people to think the same way as them.

So these factors are pulling women's minds in one direction, saying "be a slut."

Then we have factors pulling in the other direction.

If I'm an alpha, and I'm trying to choose between whether woman A or woman B is the higher quality woman, and worthy of my valuable seed and commitment, one of the things I'm going to consider is, how FEW cocks has she taken?

If that answer is "very few" or even better, "none," I'm all about that. It'll be nice and tight for me; get me the hell in there.

On the other hand, if the answer is "all of them," I don't want a "throwing a hot dog down a cave" situation. I will value one who does that less.

Therefore, women have a part of their brain that instinctively knows that if she wants to score a proper high-value male, she has to maybe not take so many cocks, and save her snatch for the really good ones.

Aaand that's where the purity shield kicks in. She needs the alpha to know that she totally doesn't give it up easy, and she has to demonstrate it properly. Thus the fact that she'll put up LMR, or she'll try to hide just how much of a carousel-riding life she's been living.

So, you have factors pulling one way, saying "be a slut" and then you have factors pulling the other way saying "but don't let the alphas know about it." Where she chooses to land on the slut vs. virgin scale depends entirely on what the situation is and what she wants others to think of her.
