There's a lot of talk here about Alphas. What makes someone an Alpha? How do Alphas behave, what does an Alpha do when x, y, or z happens, etc. How do I become Alpha?
Sometimes, a link to a movie or TV clip will show up here and we're told to go watch it to see how an Alpha behaves. I think these may be good for motivation, but most of the time they're made up fantasy. While that may have some merits, what about a chance to see real, honest to goodness 100% natrual Alphas in the wild? How do they act, what to they do? Is there a difference in how they carry themselves or speak? Is there a detectable difference in how they see the world, or their place in it? What's their drive?
Luckily for us, there's a documentary that gives us an opportunity to do so. It's been riding a wave of buzz for a few months, so you may have already watched it but didn't realize what you were seeing. If that's the case don't feel bad. The film's focus isn't the Alpha males, it's something else entirely.
The film I'm talking about is called "Blackfish", and it's a crushing documentary about one of SeaWorld and it's whales.
During the course of the film, two former male SeaWorld trainers are interviewed and their Alphaness is pretty incredible. Footage of a third male trainer is shown, but he is not interviewed.
They are all Alpha. But let's think about this for a moment... Don't you think you'd have to be naturally Alpha to be able to train a 7000 lb intelligent animal to unquestioningly follow your command? Hmmm... Kind of makes sense, right?
OK, so what makes these guys so Alpha?
Physical fitness: These guys are in their 40's and they're in damn good shape. Way better shape than probably 9 out of 10 men their age. Theres plenty of video of them working at SeaWorld when they were in their 20's, and they were peak physical specimens. They were, and still are, natrually genetically superior to almost the entire human male population.
Self assurance: These guys are super incredibly confident about who they are and what they have to say. The thing is, it's in a really quiet totally understated almost subliminal way. They truly don't give a fuck about what you think, but it really doesn't have anything to do with YOU, it's just that their frame is so rock solid that you can tell they have absolutely no fear AT ALL that you may not be accepting of them. They're COMPLETELY at peace with themselves.
Quiet Assertive Dominance: They are dominant, but in a totally calm, really quiet kind of way. They're not Dark Triad, or Machivellian dominant at all. They are simply just completely 100% sure of themselves.
Caring and Empathy: They expose their emotions. They care about the world around them and the people and animals they worked with. They instantly give you the impression of being trustworthy, honorable, and that they look out for the people in their lives. Now, think about this for a moment... You take these men who are already honest to goodness, top of the food chain, natural apex Alphas, right? I mean, they weren't put through an Alpha training program so they could handle Killer Whales. They were SELECTED to train Killer Whales because their natrual, assertive, dominant, self-assured, calm total Alphaness.
So, you take these super alphas, and what do you do? You give them a HIGH RISK job working with WHALES and DOLPHINS, and you put them in charge of entertaining THOUSANDS of people. Holy. Fucking. Shit.
Can you imagine what life was like for these guys? OMG. The plates they could have been spinning... You know what though? I'll bet they never had to. They all probably had super hot girlfriends that were the most incredibly well behaved women on the planet. Talk about Dread Game.
But these guys had so much going on, they would never even have had to put effort into spinning plates. Just imagine being in your mid to late 20's, in better physical shape than pretty much everybody on the planet. Women are already interested, then you drop the whale trainer bomb and ka-pow! That woman isn't leaving your side, and you sure enough aren't going to have to work at having something to talk about. Then, you offer to show her some photos or video of you training whales at your place...
Hahah, man. Those fucking guys had it so good.
Anyway, if you want to see how a natrual Alpha carries themselves, talks, moves, acts, etc. Watch Blackfish.
