If it's a mutual understanding, then settling for the sake of family is a perfectly fine plan.

In general, though, I'm against women settling. Their capacity to control their emotions through rational understanding is typically limited. The result of settling for women is a lot of resentment on her part and a continual stream of implied deficiencies from her to him on his part.

It will be a long slow process as he realizes that her desire to get married does not mean what he thought it meant. Realizing that his role is to pay for the party she had with other men and might still be having with them while he never gets to partake, and is only fed scraps, it not something I wish on anyone.

Again, if mutually understood, fine, if not, this is no better for men that what women are currently spouting.

Almost every woman settles though because they all believe they are better than they actually are. In her mind it is settling, but in reality they got the best man they could get. Only the cream of the crop truly has the value to get the man they believe they deserve.

Basically what I got out of this article was it is telling women to settle while they're young. The way I see it from their point of view is since almost all of them will settle anyway, they might as well do it while they're young because they will settle anyway when they're older and it will be with an even less than desirable mate than they could have snagged in their youth.

From a man's perspective you're right it's really not a good scenario for either her or the sap that she settles for. But that's the world we live in, that's why as a man you shouldn't let yourself get locked down.
