I’m a few days into true monk mode and damn, I can feel it in my bones.

It doesn't matter if you are on TheRedPill subreddit, reddit is still reddit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but being in 'true monk mode' (whatever that means) isn't compatible with browsing le reddit.

Posting your thoughts or findings is not browsing. Expressing yourself can often help self improvement, which is a, if not THE main goal of 'monk mode.'

So you're saying he just turned the PC/mobile on, went straight to the TRP subreddit, posted this and after that turned everything off and continued his 'true monk mode'-journey? I highly doubt that.

Also, expressing yourself can be done without the internet (writing in Word, on paper) and posting it AFTER you completed 'true monk mode'.

Why is that so unbelievable? With even a tiny bit of self control that is easily achievable.

'Monk mode' doesn't say anything about being a hermit or retracting your self from whatever communities you're enrolled in, it basically says stop wasting your time on instant gratification activities like masturbation and video games. That's what I took away from it anyway.

Have you ever looked into it? It's not for everyone, but for someone who is a serial time waster it's a path to a better life.

Even though illimitablemen shouldn't be considered a holy website, it has pretty spot-on information.

The internet (and so including (theredpill sub)reddit) are considered junk activities. Also, the internet is the basis for instant gratification you're talking about (inb4 hurr I've got 600GB of porn on my HDD look at me, I don't use the internet for fapping).

I have certainly looked into it. I'm not sure if I get banned for linking articles on other websites in the comments (even though it's from illimitablemen), but just google "illimitablemen monk mode" and you'll see - in general - internet (and thus reddit) are mainly considered junk activities. Of course you can go on the internet for school/work and stuff, but fact is OP didn't go that way. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with it, but when OP makes a grand claim of being in 'true monk mode', reddit (yes, even the red pill sub) shouldn't be visited or looked upon.

It says "refreshing the shit out of" not "occasionally visiting." You're allowed some cool down activities. The key, as with most things, is moderation.

I agree with you on that point, you're right. But the key words are 'true monk mode', that would implicate a harsher form of monk mode and not just 'toning down' of junk activities. But hey, I don't think it's that important to have such a big discussion on it. :)

I disagree. A big part of monk mode is studying and that is done on the computer. I pay my student loans and play music during workouts on the computer.
