I generally agree with the overall sentiment of this post.

Cold approaching is, for most men, a phase of their masculine development. However, it is a critical phase, and as you stated, a phase that should not be missed.

As a man, you need the requisite dating and relationship experience to know what kind of person you want to settle down with (if indeed, you want to settle down at all), and to have that information, you need to date a lot of women. Just learning what yellow and red flags to watch out for, what behaviors to avoid, and what kind of qualities you really appreciate are all extremely valuable lessons that every man should learn before even attempting to enter a LTR.

Perhaps more importantly even than having the dating and life experience that cold approaching and spinning plates will give you, more valuable is having a lot of options with women. Women can sense when a man has options and when he's a desperate, average dude who is putting all of his chips on her. Even if you do settle for a long term relationship or (god forbid) marriage, your partner needs to know that you are in demand and, were she to start misbehaving, acting selfish or narcissistic, and/or were to become unfaithful to you, you could replace her in a hot minute.

There is simply no better way to guarantee good behavior from your partner than to keep that competitive part of her female nature active throughout your relationship. For most women, as soon as she think you are hers and she doesn't have to compete with other women for you, she'll slowly begin to lose interest and your sex life will all but dry up, which is the story of like 99% of marriages.

That's why if you have perfected your approaching and pickup game prior to a long-term relationship, you know, and she knows, that even if your relationship were to end tomorrow, sure you'd be hurt, but she would be replaced. That's critically important in a relationship.

I have posited that we should shun the phrase and goals of "cold approach" because it's too goal oriented, where the goal is so unlikely to occur as to be meaningless. This also jibes with your idea of "practice" for future life success.

Search for my post called, "Ditch "cold approach" in favor of "learn how to initiate conversations with strangers" without having a goal other than the initiation itself."

Because a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet.

I got into a really good LTR pretty early on, we’ve been together for 5 years. I absolutely feel the need for keeping my game sharp with other women, especially after being with her for so long. No woman wants a loser that’s not desired, even the “wife material” ones.

I think the problem is that guys play the game when they're younger. They're out there having fun but as soon as they find someone they want an LTR with or one that they fall into. They forget everything they have learnt. Within the first 3 years, 90% of guys hand over the keys to the kingdom and leave themselves wide open to some serious damage financially and emotionally. They're too ready to enter a LTR and to stop gaming her to stop being that tiger she got initially and they become a house cat. You can see that in the way they dress, the decisions on where to live, the way they spend their free time.

Playing the game is one thing but guys generally do this to themselves for a bit of regular pussy and they don't even realise they're doing it. The key component is a strong frame, guys talk about it a lot but they just don't have it.

WRONG. You don't HAVE TO COLD approach. Do you think Chris Evans, Henry Cavil, or Megatron need to approach? NO.

They have women chase after them. If you approach 10,000 women a year with a 3.14% success chance and 50% of relationships end in divorce, that'll leave you with only 157 plates that chose you.

That's time that you WASTED instead of joining their church, waiting for friends to PUT IN a good word, getting a job nearby where they work to 'run into them'.

Hint Hint: Advanced GAME.

Also to add on to point 1. Playing the game increases your SMV so that you get a better platter to choose from, and are better able to deal with hypergamy.
