I went into the article with an open mind, really, hoping to learn something.

This is their conclusory advice:

the most important thing to know after you’ve been cheated on is that it’s not your fault. Nothing you did or didn’t do caused your partner to cheat.

I can't even deal with it any more. This is why so called "marriage counseling" fails so often! It is gynocentric and everything the so called "therapist" does is to empower the woman, disempower the man, and smash the patriarchy.

Women cheat? He tells them she is perfect. Her man must have made her do it. He needs to apologize profusely. Also, the man needs to subject himself to weeks of recrimination and criticism as he obsequiously begs for forgiveness from the Kween.

I am not even exaggerating. THIS is how they deal with infidelity in marriage. Beat down the man until he is dust. Destroy all attraction with the "cheated on partner." Make him as unnatractive as possible cuz then he can't cheat- get it? They don't stop until she has seen him sobbing, crying, begging for forgiveness, rubbing her feet, and no sex for months (and God help him if he even tries to initiate during this abusive phase!!).

She needs space. No, her not having sex with you for 11 months has nothing to do with you cheating. Grow up. You have responsibilities to your family.

What's that? Sex? Stop being an animal! You don't NEED sex!!!!

Yes, this is exactly what they do and most of the time the wife ends up filing for divorce after the man has debased himself fully. I often think these feminist marriage therapists smile and cheer every time they destroy another marriage.

This publication (PT) has become the Buzz Feed of the social sciences, and here they are again with some more subtle indoctrination. This piece is not as horrible as others I have seen, but an important message lurks here:

What we call dual mating strategy is encouraged, aided, and abetted by these authors and it may come from their religious views.

In simple terms, they keep telling us:

When women cheat, they (and we) are told that it was because her man failed her in some way.

Note 1: (For science, search for: "she cheated what do i do" and check the very first article - for the lazy)

Note 2: The article does (cleverly) state "I am not saying this excuses her behavior. Far from it. She is 100% responsible for the cheating." But then goes on to explain in great detail all the things he might have done to cause the cheating. In fact, the article was written to sell his book ABOUT MEN CHEATING!

When men cheat, women are told: "As you work through...your partner’s betrayal...one thing clear: You did not cause the cheating."

Bottom Line: As we all know, we must learn to read beyond the words that are spoken or written or depicted to us, and to search for underlying intent and meaning. These articles are just like a typical THOT profile: If you know their tricks, you can more easily detect the BS.

First, I want to make one thing clear: You did not cause the cheating. There is nothing you did (or didn’t do) that caused your partner to violate the boundaries of your relationship. If he was unhappy with you or the relationship for some reason, real or imagined, he had choices beyond infidelity — the most meaningful of which would have been talking to you, perhaps with the assistance of a couple’s counselor, about his feelings and how the two of you might be able to make your relationship better. Your partner’s choice to cheat is not your fault. Period.

When a woman stops having sex and her husband complains about it, she and everyone else will point out how her loss of desire is somehow his fault. He didn't pay enough attention to her outside the bedroom or he paid too much attention. He didn't work hard enough (until his hand was bent out of shape) to make her cum or he was too into her. He this, he that, he the other. Yet, when he's fed up and steps out, that's not her fault. Period!

Which way is it ladies? Are people responsible for what their spouses feel, do and the choices they choose or are they not responsible? Maybe they're partially responsible. Whatever it is, be consistent. However, I'm not holding my breath for that to happen because as mentioned above, consistency is a tool of the patriarchy.

Reality is the divorce courts are grossly biased against men.

Reality is that if a man is accused of domestic violence, the courts are grossly biased against him.

Reality is that marriage counseling is (generally) grossly biased in favor of the female prerogative and against the Male prerogative.

Reality is that a woman can nag, criticize, demand, cajole, manipulate, blow all the money, break things and throw tantrums and there's nothing a man can do about it without risking time in jail.

Reality is that any form of assertion of Male authority is seen as abuse.

Reality is that a woman has full right to cut off sex for any or no reason, for any length of time or forever and the man has no right to complain about it.

Reality is that a man cannot withhold his financial contributions to the family for any reason, because that's financial abuuuuuuuuuse.

Reality is that a man in a modern marriage is stuck in a shitty situation. If his wife is a frigid ice queen who nags, criticizes and otherwise tears him down, there isn't much he can do.

Modern men are taught to communicate and most do. They'll talk to their wives about her tearing him down, about her spending habits and about the lack of sex. Maybe he'll even piss away a few thousand dollars on marriage counseling, only to find out that nothing will change because she has no incentive to change! She has all the power in the marriage and doesn't need to change shit.

Additionally, there may be real reasons why he can't just divorce her. Usually because there are children who have a good life and their parents' conflicts are kept away from them. So what can he do?

Blow out as much moral indignation you want, but oftentimes cheating is the best option. That's just reality. It may be the least shitty option available to him.

guy cheats, he's labeled as a pig. Society is ready to crucify him in broad daylight. He's supposed to leave the property and half of his financial assets are gone.

but...if a woman cheats, it is about feelings and romance. She was vulnerable and neglected, and somehow it is dude's fault. Society is feeling sorry for her. She'll get half of yours which you had even before knowing of her insipd existence on this planet. She'll enjoy a hefty alimony and generous spousal support for decades. Add a kid or two and you're screwed in your all orifices. Good luck with demanding if child support cash is really going to kid.

The Weiss guy who wrote the article is just another snake oil salesman. Pandering to his base, the guy knows who butters his bread and acts accordingly.

The OP article sounds like all the tradcon stuff that gets put out there especially with women having no agency. Whatever her ills somewhere, someway a man is responsible.

Any guy worth his salt will do his best to screen for unsuitable women. If the woman still ends up cheating then she is cut loose regardless of how her hamster justifies it.
