Admittedly, coffee date is lame. So is "what are you expecting from Tinder?" Drink dates only, around 8 or 9 pm. And don't ever ask what a woman expects from an online dating/hookup app. It's the same every time: If you're hot, she expects to get laid; if you're not, she expects to get paid. If you're hot, she's down for a hookup; if you're not, she'll milk you for everything you're worth.

Invite her for a drink, no more than an hour. That's more than enough time for her to know whether she's attracted, and more than enough time for him to assess whether she's attracted. You watch carefully. Most of the time she won't be attracted. You end it as soon as you know there's no attraction, you're not seeing signs of interest within 15 minutes, or you're just not feeling it. Just be done. Believe me: She'll do the same with you, only it'll be her excusing herself to the bathroom, then returning with her telling you "there's an emergency; i have to go" or "my roommate called and she needs my help." Or she'll send a quick text to a friend asking them to call her. She'll get the call, say "oh, darn, I have to take this", then say to a dead line while you're sitting there: "yeah. Uh huh. Oh. Really? OK. Be right there. Bye" And then tell you she's gotta go.

They'll do it to you. So you do it to them.

And if she does that to you, the old "emergency/roommate needs me" trick, then you know. If you brought her there, toss a $10 on the table and tell her to get an Uber. And then get up, pay the tab if it's not paid, and leave.

Otherwise, good post to show the woman's sense of entitlement. If she's attracted to you, you can take her to a museum and spend no money. You can take her to a dive bar and spring for a Mich Ultra or something.

He Probably should have followed up with "If you got so many high-value men to spend all that money on you, then why the fuck are you still on Tinder? Perhaps your bitchy attitude and high expectations are a symptom of why you can't keep a man interested in you."

Eh, his response is kinda butthurt. There was a time in my callow youth when it was important to get the last word in. Now, I realize the goal is just to move on and stop wasting any more time / effort / attention / mental energy. Aside from riling her up, exactly what response did the OP expect from her with calling her out about what she expected from tinder?

I would have said "My week is pretty busy so I don't think I have time for anything more right now. I'll let you know when I do. Hope you have a good week." And then ghost her. Whether she ever learns why I'm not interested, or has some sort of grand revelation and changes her dating approach, whatever, I don't really care. It's not my job to change her.
