Dale is a grim reminder that the 'conspiracy nut' type mind cuts both ways. The mind that is so adept at knitting together one type of delusion is equally skilled at producing other kinds of delusions.

In this case, he actually does think that he lives in a world in which his wife would never be unfaithful. Pretty common delusion, sadly.

It is quite funny since Dale was always into conspiracy theories and getting down to the "truth" of matters. Yet he could never blatantly see that his wife was cheating on him right in front of his eyes.

My favorite part was when John Redcorn was crawling into Nancy’s bedroom through the window and Dale thought he was there to steal his mower. He demands that John Redcorn get inside and start rubbing his wife 😂

An interesting thing about this part of King Of The Hill is the lesson that the cucking of Dale is harmful to all three of the participants - Dale because Joseph isn't his biological son, Nancy due to the shame and continuous effort needed to hide it, and John Redcorn because he desperately wants to be involved in his son's life but can't because it would destroy Dale and Nancy's marriage and would therefore do more harm to Joseph than good.

It is a morality tale explaining that no one really wins when this happens.
