Stats. No lifts yet (Melbourne Australia is locked down. No gyms. Writing this feels like bullshit.) 175cm. 75kg. 1:30 plank, 15x push-ups, both I’d never tried before seeing mrp. Two sons 9 & 11 from ex wife. Sons struggle with mummyism. Wife 1.5 years married, 5.5 years together.

Books. NMMNGx1 and 50% again. MMSLPx1. Dead bedroom fix. Passionate marriagex2 (where I started)

Mental: typical mr nice guy. Tried all of the usual things - blaming, loss, struggling with how my behaviour impacted wifey. I have depression and anxiety related to issues with work but that’s a peak of the iceberg. It’s been there for ages. Almost all the early nice guy book applies.

Sexual: wife on ssids and anti-anxiety. Has bpd “traits” apparently according to psych. Started relationship by making out with her while married. Explosion of sexual and relationship “buzz”. Big swings between love and “you’re fucking crazy” on both sides.

Trying mrp: learning STFU. Trying to set boundaries. Trying to understand how my behaviour impacts my wife and kids. .

Question: had a big thing tonight. Wife told eldest kid that “he’s her favourite” at bedtime, who is clearly her favourite. This is in response to his admission that staying at mums isn’t what he wants. He wants the consistency of our house. This degraded to a massive argument where her abusive history (which is fair and reasonable - it was fucked) and my NMMNG history which isn’t as blatant was brutally compared. My decision was to STFU, which resulted in escalation and a bunch of abuse about her life and my inability to understand.

I’m not interested in a competition - hers wins in terms of shit childhood. This is not in question.

My problem is that I don’t want my kids to be compared in terms of favourite. I want both to feel so loved that they both want to be here forever.

How do I tell her that’s what I want?

Thanks for the abuse and feedback. I’m expecting both. B

How do I explain that it’s not a competition? That I want both
