"If his wife or girlfriend, furious, shouts that he is 'chauvinist,' a 'sexist,' a 'man,' he doesn't fight back, but just takes it. He opens his shirt so that she can see more clearly where to put the lances. He ends with three or four javelins sticking out of his body, and blood running all over the floor." Robert Bly (Iron John)

To me, this is saying what we’ve all been told over and over again here about not setting boundaries but having them and defending them. As a security guard people like to push buttons and I respect their effort to but I try to keep myself from taking anything personal. However a grown man walks up to you basically rattling off what he thinks you should or shouldn’t be doing and you might have some feelings about that. A normal reaction, but I think it plays well with women too. To know how to have boundaries when these sensitive moments come up. How do you honor yourself? How do you maintain boundaries
