The gatekeeper of commitment is you, the man. If you're guarding a gate, you don't run up to a passerby asking them if they'd like to come inside. You check those that feel a need to get through the gate.

It's her job to push the relationship.

If a girl's desire to be in a relationship can't override her "shyness" as someone mentioned, then her desire isn't strong enough for you to promote her to LTR.

I've met some attractive women I would never LTR. They had too strong of an abundance mentality and it was apparent that STRONG desire wasn't there. Good girls, but it's better in the long run to reject them as LTR candidates.

Girls can be afraid to ask, and want you to take the lead, but you really ought to feel it out and use your best judgement. If you're wrong you make a huge mistake.

If she's cooking for you, making you gifts, going way out of her way to please you consistently you're likely to be able to upgrade safely.
