Here's the skinny. When you marry a woman, you place your life at her mercy.

In one month, your wife will have full control over your sex life. In the past, if she ever decided to start using sex as a bargaining chip or a weapon, or her sex drive and/or activities became incompatible with yours, you could just break up and go find someone new. Once you're married, the only out is divorce. Which means that even if you're happy with your sex life now, if your wife unilaterally decides to change the status quo on you, you have no recourse. You either file for divorce, or cheat (which leads to her divorcing), or have a sexless marriage (which leads to her losing her respect and attraction to you and filing for divorce and/or cheating).

In one month, your wife will have de facto ownership of your house and custody of your children, as well as at least one half of all of the wealth and assets you've worked your entire life to accrue -- including anything you owned prior to your marriage, your retirement accounts...everything. Any time she wants, for any reason, or no reason at all, she has the power to divorce you, take your children from you, kick you out of your own house, receive at least one half of all of your assets, and receive a sizable chunk of all future paychecks you earn in the form of alimony and/or child support. It doesn't matter how or why divorce happens -- even if she cheats on you and divorces you to be with the other man, in nearly all cases, you lose your kids and your property.

In one month, your wife will have no obligation to do anything nice, helpful, useful, or valuable on your behalf. This doesn't mean she'll exercise this, but if your wife ever decides she doesn't feel like maintaining a job and contributing to the family income, having sex with you, cooking anything, cleaning anything, doing anything to maintain the house or children...well, you can't make her. If you're unhappy doing everything yourself while she benefits from your salary, your only out is divorce. If you make too big of an issue, she might divorce you. And if you don't do the shit that needs doing while she doesn't, she'll divorce you.

Once you hand your balls to a woman and give her the unilateral power to ruin your life, that very act causes her to lose respect for you. You're no longer a valuable and admirable man with options and power over her. You gave your options away. You gave your power away. You tied your life and value to her. Women don't consciously fuck you over (usually). They just start to lose respect for you, stop having sex with you, stop doing things to help you or support you or please you, and can't quite put a finger on why they feel so unhappy. They know you must be doing something wrong, because they're unhappy with you. They just don't understand what. They just start getting undefined feelings of unhappiness, start nagging and bitching and fighting and shit testing, then cheat and divorce.

Not all women, but enough that you're fucked about 50% of the time.

The ONLY way you can avoid this is if you constantly game and seduce your wife. Daily, hourly, every five minutes. Constantly keep her guessing. And to always, always maintain your value. Keep going to the gym, advance your career, dress well, expand your social network exponentially, always be doing social activities -- things that make you attractive to other women. When you have options with other women, your wife shits on you a lot less. And always, always be willing to exercise the nuclear option. If your wife believes you'll never walk, nothing you do has any teeth. She must always know that if she crosses the line, you'll walk. Otherwise, she's the one with the balls.

I'm sorry but you are simply making a huge mistake. Ask yourself what led up to proposing. Was it her idea or yours?

At a really basic level, marrying a woman tells her you have no other options, making you instantly less attractive. Its a 'one-quick-trick' to ruining a perfectly good relationship.

If you're going into it knowing that, the best you can do it maintain a high smv. Never let yourself slide just because you can. Subtly instill the notion that you could have other women if you wanted.
