Advice on approaching

Day game is a little bit different. The same women who are going to put on a short dress, go to a club tonight, let guys approach them and buy them drinks all night, and go home with the cutest one at last call are completely different by day. They have their guard up, and when a guy approaches, they wonder what the fuck he wants and you have to work past that guard in a way that you wouldn't if you met her tonight at a meat market.

Say hi. Make sure she sees you coming. Don't creep up behind her or anything like that. Ask her an innocent and non-personal question based on the current circumstances. Like if you're in a coffee shop, don't ask her if she likes coffee or what she ordered. Ask her if the brand of laptop bag she's carrying is any good. Now gauge her reaction. Does she smile and make eye contact and answer you with a full sentence, or does she look at you sideways and give you a two-word monotone answer? If the latter, move on.

Assuming she's at least a little receptive to you, that's when you continue the conversation. Mention that you're going on a trip and need a new case for your laptop. Slowly ask very slightly more personal questions, like whether she travels for work, etc. See if she nibbles on your baited prompts, like by asking where you're traveling or what you do for a living.

If she's asking questions about you, she's at least slightly interested. That's when you can start asking questions back about her and having a genuine conversation. Her guard is mostly down.

But this is daytime. You're not going anywhere to fuck right now. You have work to do. So does she. So after maybe 5 minutes, 10 tops unless you're somewhere where sitting and talking for longer isn't weird, mention that you need to get back to work, and tell her "You seem nice. Give me your number. We should get drinks some time."

This is not weird. This is not awkward. Normal guys who are socially well adjusted ask girls they meet for their numbers all the time. It would be weirder not to ask for her number. If she's not interested or she has a boyfriend, she'll tell you, and you say no worries, tell her it was nice meeting her, and go on with your workday. It's not a crippling, embarrassing rejection. She's just taken or isn't interested. No biggie.

Also, remember that most guys don't walk up to girls and just start talking. Most people wake up, go to work, go home, and go to sleep, and spend any spare moments of the day fucking with their cell phones to avoid talking to people. So whether or not you end up with a date, you walking up and talking to some girl may very well be the most interesting thing that happened to her today. You're doing her a favor by making her day interesting, regardless of how it goes.
