I've (18) been with this girl (21) for like six months. In the beginning everything was going great but these last few months have been difficult. She always brings up some bullshit and starts arguments, nearly everyday. It's frustrating and I think it's my fault because I'm unable to defuse these arguments (some advice on this would be appreciated).

Recently she got mad because during dinner time she was talking about something and I made a stupid joke. She went quiet so I just picked up my phone and checked some stuff without saying much. After dinner we went to the theater and watched a movie, everything was fine.

As we walk to her house I notice she's distant and not as talkative as she usually is. I question her about it and she says it's nothing. We arrive at her house, she cooks me a meal, I eat but she's still distant. I wash the dish since she was kind enough to cook me meal at midnight while she sits on her couch playing a game on her phone.

I sit there and she doesn't say anything. I initiate conversation but she keeps giving me one word answers. After a while I get upset and I tell her to stop playing on her phone and interact with me. She does and just sits there staring at the ceiling, giving me one word answers again.

At this point I become frustrated and say I'm going to bed to avoid any arguing but I show to her, without meaning to, that I'm upset. She moans about me going to bed but I just ignore it.

Fast forward a day or two and she tells me that she was being like that because I don't talk to her. She says I don't initiate conversation and if she doesn't we never speak. I say she's exaggerating and then she replies by saying we have nothing in common and that she doesn't know how our relationship is going to work. This conversation was via Facebook and during our talk she says she has to go and goes offline.

I'm appalled. I contacted her via Facebook twice to see how she is and to ask her to hang out and do something but she keeps giving me one word answers so I just never get to that part and I give up.

She hasn't initiated contact these past few days, she gives me one word answers when I do contact her what do I do? Radio silence until she speaks to me? Ignore her bullshit and just ask her to hang out straight up? I was thinking about doing the second thing but what if she continues to be distant while we're together? How do I handle it?

tl;dr: LTR is being distant after petty arguing, says we nothing in common and doesn't know how this is going to work.
