I’m going to be doing a solo guitar live performance in the school auditorium in front of everyone in a few days.

Its a massive step outside my comfort zone. Like huge. I’ve done push-ups in public, lied down in a busy sidewalk but this just scares me. I told myself I would perform in front of my school last year during the fortnightly assemblies, but I pussied out every time.

This upcoming performance is a big event as it’s a “music competition”. I’m afraid of fucking up in front of everyone and letting my team down.

The last time I performed my fingers got stiff and I almost messed up (notes didn’t sound clear). The problem is I just get self conscious when everyone’s looking at me, whereas if I play alone or play to my friends or parents then I play very well. For example, when I’m plucking the strings of my guitar I’m also thinking what I look like to the people in the audience. Whereas if I’m alone my focus is just on playing the strings and not how i look to someone.

Any advice or mindsets for me to kill my performance and not be so self conscious on stage? Tysm.
