Fetishes arise for a variety of reasons.

Maybe he is stressed out about all of his responsibilities, and fantasies about having none. Being dominated a lot of times, even for women, is about letting go of feeling responsible so you can focus on enjoying the sexual acts. It's my hunch on why rape-ish fantasies are common with women.

On the other hand, maybe he had a childhood experience that induced the fetish. Like a hot but bossy babysitter that he feels sexual nostalgia for.

Another man may feel like he deserves to be punished for things he felt he did wrong, but repressing the feelings in everyday life caused them to seek validation sexually.

It could be a ton of reasons.

When you hear anything in pop culture about alphas keep in mind that its meant for women and betas. You want to believe that the jock is working at burger king, you want to believe that the CEO actually hates himself or that douchebags don't get girls to commit(because that's the real prize right guys).

Kink is different than persona. It's like dreams it's corrective in nature, but indirectly. Unfortunately like most of psychology there is so much feminist bullshit in the field that we may never really find causality.

I think there is also a selective bias. People that have money can afford the special "services" on a regular. While I would expect a sadist would prefer a less "professional" partner.

I don't think most alphas want that release to leg go and be dominated, from my point of view it sounds like a excelent female fantasy: "he is actually a sensitive guy underneath, he just doesn't let go"

Sex podcasts are as much about real sex and sexual dynamics as virgin sex. It's idealized bullshit that doesn't matter in the real world. But the downside is that people actually believe it and it ruins sex for a lot of stupid cunts.

It's about moderation. You spent your whole day kicking ass in business or wherever, dominating each and everyone...after some time that get boring, unstimulating.

I've read a book on serial killers which corrected my perspective a little bit on this issue.

If you are the masochistic part in a BDSM relationship, you are still kind of in a position where you execute power.

You still are making the dominating part there behave exactly the way you want him to, when he/she's mentally/physically humiliating you, resulting in him/her doing it your way, the only difference being, that you aren't the active part.
