Not sure if this belongs here or if theres a thread for small questions?

Possibly extremely dumb question. Basically was exiting a club two days ago to leave and 2 girls were waiting for a cab and there were these 2 drunk guys absolutely shit faced, and they were touching them when clearly they didn't want to be touched and she kept telling them to leave but the guy kept telling her talk to me talk to me. Now, what i did can be easily considered stupid because i was with one other dude who hasnt fought anything in his life and i was sure we would get our asses whipped (throughout this entire engagement i was thinking of this), i tapped the guys shoulder and told him to go away, she clearly doesnt want to talk to you and youre bothering them, so basically go home. He turns to me and says dont touch me again, i said fine now leave. he kept repeating that while we were having a staring contest, finally, the other guy pulled him off and they left. Now i completely realise, i had nothing to gain from this engagement. Should i have ignored the whole thing and left?
