I have landed an interview with a company that is in my field of work. It is a full time position for what I am majoring in.

I have just lost my internship with a company that was in my field. My internship "ended" so technically I was not fired.

I've picked up a job just to have a job but it is not in my field of work. I am wondering, should I gamble and say I still work there- give them a number of a guy who could cover for me? Or should I tell the truth that my internship ended and picked up a bs job in the mean time?

I am leaning towards telling the truth about the internship being complete and currently looking for work. I've taken a job in the mean time to earn a paycheck but my cousin "just recently contacted me" about some work in my field (to portray options and abundance.) what do you guys think?
