I’m currently a sophomore in highschool, want to have a career in some kind of game development, and was wondering if it’s worth pursuing. I’m currently taking AP Computer Science Principles at my school. I actually just finished my first game using scratch in the class, I think it’s ok seeing as I didn’t know much about coding prior to the start of the school year. Any way, I just have a few questions.

  1. Are highlevel math classes like calculus required? If so, how difficult and time consuming are these classes.

  2. Does computer science take up a great amount of time per day? Do you still have time to do TRP principles like, lifting and reading? Do you still have time to hang out with friends, manage plates, etc.

  3. How hard is it to find a good paying job out of college?

  4. If you work for a game dev company how are employees treated? Are co-workers friendly and helpful?

  5. Any useful tips that you could give me to succeed in this career choice.
