I'm generally respected at work and get along well with others.

However, today I did something douchey. It was uncharacteristic of me and I regretted it soon after. About 10 or so people were there, some I know and some I don't. One person (a woman) called me out on it, so I didn't get away with it anyway. I ignored the situation at that moment and carried on because I was busy.

The severity of my action was on par, say, with cutting in line.

What's the best way to make things right here? I could apologize to the one person who called me out, but she wasn't specifically more affected by my action than anyone else. I'm thinking maybe an email to some of the people whom I do know.

Thoughts on this course ? Any specific suggestions on the tone?
