Cold sores are herpes bro, and if 2+2=4 there's a chance you legitimately have it.

The important thing to remember is no matter if you test positive or negative, your life ain't over. Herpes is a skin condition that's communicable and sucks a few times a year, nothing more. One of my best boys has it, and was legitimately ready to kill himself over it before he came to me about it.

EDIT: Whoa, hold on - just saw the last part. Not an advocate of condoms and like marking your territory? Dude, enjoy the kids and the herpes. That's just fucking idiotic. You deserve whatever you have coming to you with that attitude.

It's definitely something you want to do everything in your power not to get, but if you get it - keep in mind that they don't even screen for herpes on a standard STD test because the mental anguish of a person finding out they have herpes is far, far worse than the herpes themselves. If I remember correctly, 1 in 4 North Americans have genital herpes - and something like 80% will never have symptoms.

Be careful in the future, get checked out - but don't let this shit define you.

Yes, you do need to go see a doctor. If you are sexually active and have multiple partners and aren't absolutely sure you're partner isn't sleeping around go get tested on the regular.

If you've ever had cold sores, you're most likely fine. If you have no history of it, then there's a good chance you've contracted genital HSV-1. While typical genital herpes is HSV-2, it ultimately doesn't matter. You'll have similar outbreaks. Some people claim that genital HSV-1 outbreaks are less frequent, but who knows.
