For now, though, just know that it's in a woman's nature to try to secure the highest value male possible. If you're in a relationship with a girl and your value starts to depreciate or even if she thinks she can do better than you, she will attempt to branch swing.

Branch swinging is the process of looking for a better man without breaking up with the first one first. The initial usage actually included "to a higher branch." The original concept included not merely that she was "bored" or "tired of" her current man, but that she was actively looking for onie with a higher SMV.

The moment you lose frame and she notices she loses faith in you. You no longer bring her security and comfort. So naturally she 'branch swings'. Looking for someone better. There's no one more important than ourselves and if she wants the better guy she will not hesitate going for him

There are two reasons people do this:

1) it's safer.

They're tired of their boyfriend/girlfriend, but too much of a fucking coward to break up and risk being lonely until they can latch onto another chump. So, they keep the current one around while they shop.

2) it's basically cheating.

That is to say, they're the kind of person who would cheat, but the person they're about to cheat with offered up a relationship and they were cool with that too. So like, A is dating B and has no real reason to leave (other than boredom). Then C comes along and starts flirting with A. Now at this point, A is thinking about cheating, or maybe already has, but then C says "let's be boyfriend and girlfriend" so A breaks up with B and hooks up with C.

It's just stupid drama.
