I'm a 16 year old who plays water polo for a private christian school, being our only goalie, I have a certain expectation of how much effort I should put in practice, which I meet most of the time.

My team is run by three people. One 40 year old, manly man who played the game for 8 years, and two 23 year old girls who volunteered to assistant coach with him.

The two female coaches when I first met them were genuinely good people, funny, and almost "chill." But one thing I started noticing was they would instantly go from "buddy friend" to "I'm asserting my authority on you, respect me bitch." I just sort of played it off and joked around about it with my friends.

After our first win of the season I come home with high spirits and find a lot of pictures taken of the game by my friend who's on the Yearbook team. she goes to school sports events and takes pictures and a lot of them make it onto facebook.

Amid the action shots I found a picture of one of the girl coaches leaning into the pool and pointing at my friend with a frustrated face. I attempted to make some funny comments on the photo like "Are you undermining my authoritah?!" and "GET OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE POOL!"

a couple people liked the comments and all was well and funny. the girl coach even liked my comments but then unliked them later. I found out something was fishy.

I went to practice today and the main coach man comes up to me and tells me how disappointed he was in me for disrespecting my fellow coach. My "bad attempt" at humor now caused her grief and guilt and did not meet my "manly and christ-like" expectation of respecting women. Both the girl coaches agreed that I should not play in our upcoming game tomorrow.

I went up to her in the middle of practice and said in the most dreary and unwilling attitude "sorry I disrespected your authority," and then I walked away. I wasn't sorry. I didn't mean it at all. My head coach wants me to write a "long and thorough" email about what I had done to her.

I don't plan on writing this email, but I fear I may not be able to play. Apologizing in the email is my last case scenario. What should I do at this point? what would be the RP thing to do? because I don't respect this castrating bitch or her partner in crime. They act like they're chill and they joke around at practice with us then they demand authority and respect as if they deserve it.

any opinions and advice would be well appreciated.

Edit 1 10/7 Currently at school and I talked to my head coach about it. He said I must send the apology email on my lunch break in order to play. Apparently she was butthurt because of the second comment about undermining authoritah. At our game last week, my friend ryan was suggesting something to the coach in private and she had said the line to him about undermining authority . Even though i knew nothing of the conversation that happened yet still said the line, the coach thought ryan was spreading to everyone about what a bitch she was, which didn't happen. Im probably going to follow the apology-professionalism thing you guys mentioned. I'll keep updating. Thanks a lot.

Edit 2 10/7 10pm

So I sent the email, but as punishment for my dysfunctional behavior I was only allowed to play the second half of the game. But throughout this mess of this bitch's butthurt I came to realize,

Women should not be leading and directing a men's program DESIGNED FOR MEN.

My head coach was telling me how women don't process things like men and how I must be careful with what I say around them. Okay, so if I behave around them, what do I get? More disciplinary squats for rolling my eyes during a speech I've heard 30 times? These two bitches literally contribute nothing to our benefit as waterpolo players (as discussed by the team and I in the locker room) From what I've experienced, I see those two girls as wanna-be head coaches who assert their authority to feel like a hotshot. Women should not be given male authority, especially in a MALE sport. I don't like keeping my anger and frustration in when I miss a goal because I may be accused of "sassing the coaches" or "raising my voice at them" or "undermining their authority " or "disrespecting women." when my head coach doesn't give a fuck and he says "it's all good just shake it off you got this." I don't like seeing women in authority over men. it doesn't work.
