Met this girl at a party last Friday and she seemed keen to go out. When should I be asking her out?

Reason I'm confused is because its leading up to Christmas this whole week and a lot of people are busy with family matters. Should I arrange the date to be after Christmas is over or just forget about it and go for it this week anyway?

My family doesn't really celebrate Christmas, while she does so I'm not really sure how dating works around the holidays really.

Bonus: any cool date ideas for Christmas time other than ice skating(it's summer here)? I mean we could go to the beach but that's not very christmassy
