Don't know what you've been reading. Clothes definitely make a difference in my opinion. The way I see it - if they matter in a job interview they matter in life.

Clothes do a few things.

They help show your social status/style. Suit and tie vs polo and kakhis vs sweats and runners.
They show how you take care of yourself. Wearing torn/ripped/old dirty shirts other than when doing manual labour at home shows that you just DGAF but not in a good way.
They help you feel better about yourself and help boost confidence. Put on a baggy t-shirt and shitty pants, go to the mall. Now wear a nice pair of kakhis, tight shirt, and nice shoes. You'll WANT to approach that HB9 and so will her.
It will help mask/cover imperfections in your physique and put attention on your strong points. When you wear a nice pair of pants that fit properly, it will help show your "assets" (if you know what I mean). Same for your shirts. If you still have a bit of a belly (EAT BETTER AND LIFT HEAVIER), you can find shirts that are more "flattering" in colors that "mask" the goods while still showing off those tiny saturday night specials* you've recently acquired curling in the squat rack (DON'T FUCKING DO THAT ANYMORE I'LL FIND YOU).

So yes clothes are important.

*for those who are unfamiliar with guns, "saturday night specials" are tiny guns that were known to be used in nghtclubs because they were small and easy to hide.

Clothes matter.

Learn to objectively look at information and don't take everything that is written here as truth.

Yes I did. In college I was an athlete so I wore athletic apparel nearly all four years in college. I could use my status to attract women or not feel out of place at a party or something because it was college.

I learned real quick that in the real world your appearance matters. I remember I was out with my flag football teammates one time and they got on my for wearing Jordan's at a new years party.

After that, I upgraded my entire wardrobe and it made a huge difference when going out.

This topic confuses me too. In the caveman days we didn't have fashion and it didn't play part in attraction. Why does it matter today in terms of attraction?

It's also about style not how much you spend. Wear something appropriate but still stands out some way. I find a lot of good stuff on eBay or a thrift store.

I have a tailor and he makes me clothes that are neutral but show off my physique well while not getting in the way of actually doing shit I use my body for.

My current wardrobe is dock worker, though, and it hasn't affected my attractiveness. If anything, women like it more because it gives off the idea that I'm doing something with my life.
