Why not get some attraction going during your first interaction? maybe some kino. give her a reason to want to respond kindly to your text.

Go for insta dates, or in any case push as much and build up more attraction from the start. Make her want your number.

Your style sounds like a covert op, go in, get number, get out. Nothing really memorable for the girl.

If you get a number with a weak connection, or for no reason, of course it will be a flake. Best thing to do when time is short is be very direct. "I have to run to class, but I find you very attractive, let's do XYZ sometime." Get her to agree to a foreshadowed date before even taking the number. That way at least she knows why you took the number. Good looks and a confident delivery will set you apart.

I would try to hook more in conversation. If there isnt enough time to chat to build attraction or escalate - there isnt a huge put in getting number (because they WILL flake, unless they are ridiculously desperate or super physically attracted to you).

In those instances - count it as a warm up and enjoy the reference.

If they do flake on you and dont suggest an alternate meeting time - next the shit out of them.
