The way you flirt with a woman is going to be different when it's just you and her vs. you and her in a public situation. It's context based.
Part of this is that there's social customs she has to keep and you have to keep in these situations.
I think you're psyching yourself out though. Most people don't give a shit what anyone else is doing. You think people are looking at you talking to this HB but they're not. They only care about themselves.
Create a frame, and live in that frame. Go in with a mentality of "This girl wants to talk to me because I'm a valuable man who has his shit together and hopefully everyone sees me doing it so they can also experience my aura and presence."

Yeah you're completely right - when I don't give a fuck I'm the most confident fucker on the planet but I sometimes overthink things and go into my shell. I also struggle escalating in these public positions as I have a fear of her loudly telling me to stop and walking away idk why :/

Stop thinking. Your brain will self sabotage you to keep you in the same place. Just do.
I can tell you might be falling into her frame a bit. Or even pushing this frame (that doesn't exist) of her rejecting you and walking away. Women are intuitive creatures. She's going to sense that in the middle of the lecture. And respond neutrally or negatively.
If you're into her, then pursue her. Despite what other circumstance arises or what anyone else thinks here. Just do you. Try & reframe it in your mind and feed off that energy. People will follow.

Okay man that's the main thing I need to do - stop giving a fuck if another dude is taller/more muscular/better at X whatever if I like a girl I should fuck all of them and go for it, my confidence will come across through my actions = poon

I have a high SMV I feel, I'm always told I'm good looking by birds, Med student, my main thing is I make people laugh a lot I just have that underlying lack of confidence but I just need to fuck that off, Man Up and go for it. ^
