I'm a freshman at uni with a pretty big social circle in the top fraternity on campus. I'm constantly meeting new girls that are friends of girls I know and after they introduce themselves to me, I tell them who I am and I'm almost always met with "I know who you are".

The most recent time this happened was at a rave on Friday. I was with my friend and a girl I used fuck with but never fucked. Her roommate came up to me and introduced herself to me and when I told her who I was she just said "I know" and when I asked how she just awkwardly walked away. Later on in the night she told me "Dance with her already, pussy!" referring to the original girl.

I feel like this should be a good thing but it doesn't seem like it is. This happens constantly but I don't seem to ever be able to close with the original girl or her friend.

Basically, why does this happen so much and is it actually a good or a bad thing?
