I think you're missing something here.

Based on his other comments in this thread, OP seems to have serious social anxiety issues. Guys just starting out will get those newbie gains and then start wearing form fitting clothing. Their friends will say shit like "Did you paint that shirt on this morning?" Or maybe "So are you going to start punching people out on a regular basis now?" It's just guys playfully giving each other shit, but BP'ers with serious social anxiety won't know how to respond and might interpret the comments as "push back" against their new fitness habit. I guess ultimately it is push back. A shit test is push back that you're supposed to ignore and just blow past. A positive interpretation is that the shit tester is giving you a chance to not give a fuck and self-reenforce your confidence.

I suspect this is the dynamic OP is talking about, and that this is a lesson he'd benefit from learning.
