I work in consulting and for the most part I either work on my own or I work with some really chill people. However, there is this woman on my team who is just a complete pain in the ass to work with. The biggest problem that I have is that she is a superior, but not a manager.

Some of examples of this crazy woman:

  • we are are at team meeting - I make a comment and she immediately begins to over analyse everything I have said.
  • I make a sound during the meeting - turns to me and says "you have something to add"
  • I make an expression to something on the presentation - "what's wrong"
  • I make a suggestion that if we enable two factor authentication we may be able to use a vendor that most of the team, with the exception of this woman, really liked. She turns around and sends an email at like 11PM with all these reasons why MFA is not secure and why we should avoid using this vendor. Manager caves and postpones using the vendor. Other teams go forward with the vendor leaving us behind.
  • I make a comment about an issue during an engagement and she blows things out of proportion.... Client "jokes" saying that not that many people like her.
  • tries to offer food, cupcakes etc., as a way to get me and others to believe she is a sweetheart
  • Has come out and said " I don't like you" then brought food the next day, i guess she felt sorry

I can go on and on about the many issues I have with her. Management hasn't had any issues with my work and I get good reviews. I just don't know how to handle her. At times it just seems like she is over paranoid and is out to ruin my career. I have slow and steady moved away from working with her in order to reduce that risk but her an I just don't work well together and it will be impossible to not work with her at times. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
