Thing is, it's really difficult to judge if the girl wants your attention or not. (younger) Girls by nature are generally more passive, and as a guy, it kind of scares me thinking that I have to do all of the approaching and fear rejection. I feel like the average hot girl can get any guy she wants, but the average attractive man, unless he seems super-approachable and confident, may never know if which girl actually likes him and rarely be approached if he himself is also reserved or passive. It's like a waiting game, and especially nowadays, you're seeing a lot of guys, including very attractive ones who happen to be reserved, not getting results.

I fall into this category. I would say I am an attractive male but simply don't know what to do to actually get a girlfriend. I am--in essence--blocked. I am reserved, but sometimes quite unsure of how to "take action" and "get things going". It becomes almost something mystical and far away to achieve. Regardless of what self-help or philosophy content I induce in, I still can't get results. I make small-talk to some girls I sit by. there might be a laugh, exchange a few ideas, etc...but that's it. I can feel we might be both into each other, but..it just ends there and repeats. There's obviously an attraction on both ends, but it never progresses. And I know why, but it's a slow-killer I just can't remedy.

I am not afraid to admit that I am 18 years old, finishing my senior year off, and have never had a girlfriend. I am 5"10" and just a normal thin guy with a decent sense of fashion. I am a musician and really have a lot going for me.

But I think I've come to realize that I am not projecting my "openness" to girls. I don't know how to do that. I know it's painfully obvious, but they simply won't, 95% of the time, approach or even give subtle cues, unless the guy appears fully in place with himself and his intent.

I guess I am just quite intimidated by going off to college. I just want to actually see something happen...you know? I don't need a girlfriend to survive, but I have the potential to get one...but simply can't...and that's the killer.

Thoughts? Specifically beneficial if anyone has been in my situation and been able to overcome it?
