Today, my brother and I went back to university after spending the (Canadian) Thanksgiving long weekend at home with our parents.

While packing the car, this morning he was so lazy and tardy that I ended up just packing my stuff and his stuff into the car while he was still busy getting ready (behind schedule). No big deal.

When we arrived at his place and I went to help bring his stuff inside, he was taking his sweet time doing unnecessary stuff like putting his headphones on while I stood there and waited. I said “come on let’s go” to which he responded “shut up”, so I told him he can take his own shit and I emptied all his stuff out of the car onto the ground of the parking lot and left.

My rationale was that he didn’t respect my time nor my effort so as I would do with any girl, I immediately left so as not to waste any more of my valuable time, since it was clearly not being appreciated or respected.

The only thing is... this wasn’t some girl. It was my brother. So my question is, does a family member deserve more lenience? Or is disrespect not to be tolerated at all regardless of who it’s coming from?
