So last night I was going to hang out with my LTR at this kickback. Right before we left, I get a call from some of my good friends asking me to swing by, and I'd say rather hang with them, so I tell LTR that I'm going there instead.

So while we were getting our stuff in my car, I tell her that I'm probably going to stay for a while/crash there, and since she had stuff to do in the morning, I told her that I'd drive her home right now instead, or she could find her own way home.

She goes "Yeah I'll probably go home then."

I say cool and we go.

On the drive there I can tell something is up with her, I ask her what's wrong, she says it's nothing. I know she's lying, but I just shrug and turn the music up.

We get to her house and she goes "Wait I want to talk about something"

I stop the car, and ask her what?

"I feel like you want me to go home because you don't want to be seen with me in public or around your friends"

I believe that this was a comfort test, because she needs reassurance about her SMV because mine is higher.

She also started crying, and I told her that I'm not going to talk to her about it until she stopped, then we sat in silence for a couple minutes until she was done.

So I told her, "Look, I can see how you feel that way, I understand how you feel. But I promise that it's not like that and I do like being seen with you. You can come to my friends if you want, I thought that since you have to get up early in the morning, it might be easier for you to get home now instead of at 2am."

Then I gave her a hug, she seemed to calm down, we talked a bit more, had a laugh or two and then she left.

I have not contacted her over text and she hasn't contacted me yet.

I'm still trying to figure out comfort tests, as well as the fact that women want their thoughts and emotions validated. How exactly do you go about validating thoughts?

Should the next time I contact her be in a couple days to take her on a date?

I think I handled this correctly, but what do you guys think?
