So I started talking to an HB9 recently (maybe about 30 days now). I've been playing it slow, when she texts I don't replay right away. Sometimes I take 3 hours, sometimes I wait til the next day. Well, she started suspecting I had a girlfriend. I let her know that wasn't the case and I was just busy. I have a kid from a previous relationship (don't worry I have FULL CUSTODY and do not pay child support), so I just tell her I'm with my kid doing whatever. She got over that, but then starts telling me that she hates texting me because I don't respond right away and my replies are really short.

Now when I text her, she is the one that is taking hours or waiting for the next day to text back. I sent her the last message yesterday and don't want to send another one because I don't want to seem needy or worried.

So did I play this slow game the wrong way?
