Actually, I don’t think you were “obtuse” enough, but yeah, how you reacted was ok.

Honestly bro, I’d skip a week with her and when you meet up next, SHE comes to YOUR place, she brings the drinks, she cooks for you and she’s got to suck a whole lotta dick. You’ve got to take the power back. If she didn’t offer a legitimate reason, this was a shit test...a disrespectful one at that.

Good job standing up for yourself and if when you tell her to come over she says why don’t we go out and do X Y or Z, let her know you just feel like hanging out at your mothers place. If she hems and haws at this, tell her maybe some other time and you’ll talk to her later.

She has to prove herself to you.

Cancelling was the right move. If there was an actual issue like she got a flat on the way there or there was some sort of real family emergency, tell her not to sweat it and let her know when you’re free again. If she was just slow and lazy getting ready/ being on time I’d just say she’s welcome to come by your place some other time or no contact until she attempts to reschedule.

She should be excited to go on a date with you and if she’s not then she doesn’t get to. If she cared I’m assuming she would’ve been very apologetic and offered a rain date

I have always found that if you tolerate this one time from a woman she will repeat this behavior over and over again. You did the right thing.

Don’t be the next to initiate contact, she will likely come crawling back and she will either get the message, and if she does it again hard next ghost her ass.

I don't know man.... Why are you so concerned about showing a plate the sun set? That's boyfriend behavior. I don't want to see a plate before the sun is down most times.

Women are late .... It's just what they do. They will always be late. Plates, wives, girlfriends late late late. An hour is not that big of a deal and she gave you at least a little notice. She was probably late, trying to make herself look good for you.

If you had a reservation for a restaurant, or tickets for something that started a specific time .. then I would be more bothered. But that's me... Could have seen the sunset another day and still got your dick wet at least.

Canceling plans all together is more of a big deal rather than being late. At least she was courteous enough to let you know first Sometimes people are just late....

We can't tell you what's unacceptable for YOU. But obviously you have a bit of regret over it, so maybe it was not the right call. I would not want to deal with someone who would just cancel a plan if I happened to be running a bit late every now and then.
