If you really want to differentiate yourself, make sure you take calculus.

But seriously. Physical stuff - join sports or a martial art, start lifting (there are loads of tutorials and info on youtube for form and programming). And be social - join teams, hang out with people instead of spending your evenings gaming in the basement. With the mindset you'll pick up here, and the physical and social foundations also taken care of, you've got a great shot at making high school yours for the taking.

Edit: sorry dude, just be cool with people. Fun to hang around. Treat people with respect and demand it in return. Don't let anyone fuck with you or walk over you. Do this and you'll be popular, but honestly highschool especially just starting in highschool has social dynamics that are no were near a good reflection of the real world. Just don't worry about it and you'll be fine. Just stand up for yourself.
