Do you pay for your date?

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Depends on the context. $4 for some coffee isn't a big deal. Also if I'm dragging her to an event for my benefit then I'll pay, but usually the girls I date are pretty good about splitting costs.

However I NEVER take a girl out on a dinner date before we've had sex.

Normally I insist on taking my woman on a date where I pay for everything. She likes to pay for everything herself as well. We roll a D20 to see who will get to pay. Side note, we roll a D20 (20 sided die) to see where we shall eat.

The second you meet someone you are starting to lay down precedents for how they expect the rest of your interactions to go. If you pay for everything right off the bat they'll be an expectation you'll be paying for everything all the time. I personally like spending my money on things I want, so I split 50/50 on the first few dates, then for the sake of convenience it usually develops into ok you get this meal, I'll get the next. I don't keep a spreadsheet. As long as it's close I don't care.

ltr and I split everything 50/50. sometimes I'll cover the bill, sometime she covers the bill

No. Split 50/50. Or if you buy event tickets get her to buy the drinks etc.

Provided that I usually do the inviting, I'll pay unless she takes quick initiative to split. I'll insist if I happened to have ordered something non ordinary.

It pissed me off a lot when a girl invited me for a restaurant that I knew was expensive and used a coupon to cover her part. It wasn't the thing that caused me to drop her, though.
