Hard question.
There are rape horror stories, just like there are false rape horror stories. So you can't quite go with the anecdotic experience on either.

If you assess the consequences on the victim, depending on the circumstances rape will scar a woman for some time, or for a life. Depending on how far the false rape accusation is stretched, it can damage one's reputation, or destroy his life. As for the victim, false rape accusations sounds more damaging.

Society wise, rape ALWAYS produces its consequences. False rape is less common and not always produces its consequences. So rape is indeed more deleterious, people fear it more and they should fear it more.

It's easy to agree that in current society, rape is worse. On the individual scale, false rape is prone to be more damaging (and I can almost hear people saying I'm belittling traumas or comparing things that can't be compared. BULLSHIT).
It's hard to chose which one is the worst, rationally speaking the fear rape brings is worst because it effects every woman, but we're highly empathetic to individual traumas and suffering. What I can say is, you can't say they're equal, it's highly unlikely.
Personally I think IMPUNITY is worst. People should be punished for their stupidity, be it for raping, be it for believing themselves raped when they were not or simply lying about it.
I don't know if rape hysteria is undue, it obviously varies with the time and the place. Much like torture and murder, any number is to high for me, but if you DO have torture, murder and mass shootings, putting rape in a special place seems odd, to say the least.

As for recording: RECORD.
Illegally obtained but yet verifiable evidence is supposed to be accounted for in court if it is favorable to the accused in nearly all penal systems in the world. I have no idea about american states but even if it can't be used in court I think it is hard to prevent its usage either way.
There's a very interesting story to help understanding illegal evidence. John is in jail for murdering Daniel, you are John's friend. Some day, you're in Paul's house, and Paul tells you "John is an asshole, he deserves jail, but Alan murdered Daniel, look at this." And he shows you a letter Alan sent him confessing the crime.
You knock Paul unconscious and steal the letter. This letter can be used to set John free, but it was illegally obtained, so it can't be used to prosecute Alan. Paul might or might not have committed a crime by hiding it.

1) Avoid having logical discussions with female feminists. They don't possess logic. You will get nowhere.

2) Record, Record, Record. As far as the courts are aware, you two had a verbal discussion about it some time ago, and she liked the idea of recording the sex. As long as you are the accused, there is no way she can disprove this and you will be permitted to use this for your defense in court of law. The only way you couldn't is if she specifically texted/messaged (verbage that can be verified) and denied giving consent for video recording. And if she does that, just audio record it. If she manages to think of that too, then don't fuck her, because no pussy is worth the impact a [false] rape allegation has on a man's life, convicted or not.
