Hi there,

I’ve been redpilled for a couple years now. I’m 24 living in a top 50 US city. I own a marketing company and do well for someone my age. I’m single and have never had an issue finding high quality women since I swallowed the pill.

Ever since my business has taken off, I’ve splurged on some things. I bought a Mercedes. I bought a pool table. I have a nice, big apartment downtown in my city. I have an overkill PC setup with multiple monitors. I have a 135” 4k projector movie theater setup. I have everything that I’ve ever reasonably wanted. Even though I don’t own a huge house with a pool, I feel like that’s something I’ll obtain in a few years at this rate.

I understand chasing possessions isn’t necessarily going to lead to happiness, but it almost seems like ever since I started buying nice things, my productivity and drive to become more and more successful has diminished. I barely have an incentive to work anymore, as I feel like the drive is fading. The most productive I’ve ever felt was when I only had a laptop and I lived in a small apartment. I kind of want to return to that lifestyle.

Part of me wants to sell everything I own, only keep a laptop and a phone, and move to somewhere like Hawaii or Puerto Rico and just dial in on minimalism and focus on productivity and my business. I’m reminded of Elon Musk’s tweet a few weeks back suggesting he was going to sell all of his possessions and just focus on his business.

Would any of you recommend my approach? Or do you think there’s a better way to approach life?

The other part of me thinks “Yo, maybe you should just learn how to handle nice things and balance your business with that, you’re being a bitch” and the other part of me thinks “Maybe there’s something psychologically taxing about having nice things and attempting to pursue greatness while being surrounded by luxury is really just a distraction you don’t need”.

I’m torn. Anybody have any advice?
