Priorities change when you get older, so foreseeing those changes and making an investment in your future self while in your twenties pays many, many dividends. 1. Health. Eat right, exercise, multivitamins every day. Get outside and play sports, run by the ocean, skydive, whatever works for you 2. Finances. A) Emergency Fund: Save 4-6 months worth of living expenses in a high-interest savings account - this is only used for big emergencies like losing your job or repairing your car/house or medical bills. Always replace what you’ve used; B) Pay off all debts, starting from those accruing the highest interest; C) Invest: pay yourself first by throwing 10-20% of your earnings into more risky index funds and safer interest-bearing instruments. Cost-average into these instruments every month to average out the highs and the lows of the market (that way, when markets decline and you seem to be losing money, you’re also buying deals along the way), make sure your dividends and interest are automatically reinvested whenever they’re paid out, and you’ll be fucking flying by the time you’re 35, and financially independent by 45-50, if not earlier; 3. Travel. Open a separate high-interest savings account for travel so you can invest in experiences: when older people look back on their life, they’re rarely nostalgic about those new cars they owned, or their renovated kitchen. Their face lights up, however, when they think of Spain or Thailand, or Australia. Go cliff-jumping near your home, hiking, camping, to music festivals - those memories you’ve created are at your beck and call whenever you want a smile or a cry; 4. Do not invest too much in pursuing women. Don’t travel for them, or buy cars to impress them, or buy jewelry for anyone who hasn’t been a ltr for a year. Don’t buy tons of shots for them, or expensive dinners, etc, etc, etc. Women are a black hole for money. If you think she’d be more responsive if you buy car “x”, just ask yourself if you’d be willing to work for a year straight for a mere “chance” at pussy: because a year of your labour, a year of YOUR LIFE, is what many newer cars will cost you; 5. Regret will kill you. If you have the slightest suggestion she’s interested, you start communicating your sexual interest immediately! Timing is everything. When providence smiles upon you, take the chance. The fact you didn’t muster up the courage to kiss your crush will haunt you forever and that memory will always sting. She’s too hot for you, but you think there’s a chance? Take it. You regret the things you don’t do more than the things you do.

What I would've done consists of things that I did do, and those I wish I had not.

The latter: I wish I had not lived with my then-girlfriend. Drug/Alcohol Abuse. Parental acceptance. Unprotected sex. Take for granted those people who love me. Stayed at a job too long. Scared about my future.

The former: Moved out of the country and then across the country. Took a job in a completely new city. Graduated from University. Played a college sport. Fucked tons of bitches. Exercised. Read. Began Journaling again. Tried to new things and developed new tastes. Broke up with my then-girlfriend.

Always take things with moderation. Alcohol and drugs are basic these days but can ruin lives more easily than you think.

Stop playing video games if you do. Hit the gym, hit on girls. Study. Be good at what you love so you can make money from it.

If you keep these things, your thirties will be easy. If you dont, you will wake up one day that half your life is gone and you have nothing.
