Hi. I'm 20 yo, about to enter monk mode. I'm pursing a Computer Science degree and want to propel myself into my career ASAP. I'm in community college about to transfer to a 4-year institution but might not have the funds to support myself so I want to get out of this highschool/college bubble of kids and into the real world of men. I don't have issues with talking/flirting with girls, have 2 plates, working on a 3rd.

It's summer and I only have class from 8-12pm. I want to improve and am asking established men for their help/advice (if they are willing).

List of Things I plan on doing (at least 5mins a day)

  • Read. (Used to read fantasy/sci-fi, but now reading books about CS/ trying to propel myself to the frontiers of technology) (Also reading self-help such as brain/willpower/how2learn books, etc)

  • Write. (I have big ideas but no solid foundation for them, writing my thoughts down or even a novel to get my thoughts across sounds like a good idea. Also develop my own thoughts).

  • Meditate

  • Cook (I already eat healthy/ have a blender for shakes / but want to actually become skilled enough for people to be impressed when I cook)

  • Programming w/ different languages but ultimately, I feel like languages are not hard to learn, just that GOOD IDEAS for projects that are scarce. --> Develop my portfolio to apply for jobs.

and lastly, the questions for established professionals: how did you get to the position you are in now? Hard work? Luck? Any advice for a kid thats (hopefully) only a 5th part of the way through life?

I am also particularly interested in men who have careers in tech/consulting because ultimately, I want to be good enough at a technology for people to want to fly me over (travel!) and teach them.
