Tell her that this isn't acceptable in a relationship and see what she does. If she doesn't cut him off after that statement, end it.

You don't ever give ultimatums, you create boundaries and leave if she crosses them.

Hey man. This sounds like a red flag, any girl that stays in touch with her exes does it for a reason. If she is mentioning her exes around you it sounds like she doesn't respect you and/or she still has feelings about him. Either way it is a situation I'd walk away from or you could just ignore it.

This is a mine field many men fail to cross over carefully. You're a man so you naturally want to protect what you have. Have it be money, property, or women, men will fight to the death to keep these things. It's in our nature.

Since we no longer operate in this state of nature we have to operate in subtle ways. You can't just tell her that she's not allowed to talk to her ex. That will make you seem like a jealous beta and chances are she will tell her ex that your jealous of him. That would be a sign for him to start chipping away at your relationship. So what do you do?

1) You act like her ex isn't a threat. Why does this work? Alpha males aren't worried of betas taking their women away from them.

2) Dread game. You work on your body and mind and you talk to girls whenever you two are together. Don't openly flirt with women but make it seem like there is always a chance. Your girl will step up her game to keep you.

3) She doesn't belong to you, it's just your turn. Internalize this. Everything, including women, have the potential to be lost. Accept it. It doesn't matter. Stoicism teaches this

Subtlety monitor any changes in habit or personality. Does she suddenly start texting him or talking to him more than often? She's seeking validation or possibly branch swing back to him. How does she talk about him? Is it positive or negative?

Any guy a woman has fucked before is a candidate to fuck her again because the guy has already established attraction and comfort and women can easily rationalize banging an ex: "he understands me", "we saw each other and it just happened", it won't add to her dick count, etc.

I would tell her something like this. "My expectation for any relationship I'm in is that neither of us stay in contact with exes." That way it's clear that you're establishing standards and not acting out of jealousy.

If she doesn't like your standards, she doesn't deserve your commitment.

I enforce old school rules when I am in a relationship, no male friends is one of those rules. Tell her she is not to talk to other guys while she is with you, period.
