Fatherly advice

A father is supposed to protective of their child. Be kind, make sure all his needs are met so that the child can grow into an adult and thrive in the outside world. If he has never even bothered seeing you all these years, he's not even worthy of your thoughts.

I'd personally seek him out. Probably will hear alot of things you didn't want to hear, but the curiosity would eat me alive. You do you.

One of my plates was abandoned by her mother at 3mos old. Single Dad raised her. She sought her mom out across the country. Met up with her. Fresh off her 3rd DUI and dating an abusive carpenter. Typical no-responsibility "couldn't handle it" , "didn't want to settle down", "lets have a relationship now". Satiated her curiosity tho.

Hearing that explained alot of the way the girl acted, and her proclivity for alcoholism. Shout out to Jenn, you were so much fun, congrats on the marriage.

Well man you can give him the satisfaction. I personally grew up without a father as well. If my Dad wanted to be in my life I’d try it out. That’s a mature thing to do is to seek out your Dad. At the end of the day you may not know it but I’m sure you share some characteristics from him and ways of thinking.

Me thinking about the situation more of an whole has me thinking, I can’t blame my father I don’t know how he was raised or what he went through as a child he may not know better. Same for your dad he may not know better and how serious being a father is. At least you know and now you will be a great dad one day.
