Here's the thing man Both of them, job and entrepreneurship, are a way of life. None of them is universally superior than the other. Some people fit well in a job setting (usually people who tend to be specialists), other people fit well in a more chaotic entrepreneurial setting(usually generalists). Entrepreneurship works best when an indea comes and completely possesses you. And it's usually harder work than a job. It's basically trading free time for an idea. Not very glorious actually. Succe…

There's something about bjj that just chills out the mind, and occassionally numbs it down when you spar with a talented guy and realise how wide the gap is and how vulnerable you actually are. It's one of those full contact fighting style things. It brings a feeling of complete helplessness that's difficult to explain. I used to box in uni(was average. didn't get very good at it), but it was bjj that truly got me addicted to combat training(only nine months of bjj currently. Still a long way to…

Holy shit you nailed it. I am one of the nerds who get attracted to bjj. Was 9 months into it before covid shut down my gym. The puzzle-solving component is intensely addictive, and there's something about seeing a comparatively skinny guy absolutely immobilise bigger guys through sheer practice and thinking. Absolutely love that so many accessible gyms offer a bjj environment now.

Change is the only constant man. You and I are not the first and not the last. It took me years of doing all the beta mistakes onto myself, and then wading through what then felt like pain in order to build up myself to this current point. And now looking back, the old blind days were the actual painful ones. I just didn't know it then. You may not end up the same as me because we have lived through different lives. I hope you respect the journey. And I hope that you create it by thinking for yo…

You just discovered that the world is full of things, ideas and perspectives that counter each other but still exist at the same time, and that there is enough space for everyone to be anything in any way one desires to be. This is a giant change of understanding in a world where it's constantly hammered into you that there is only one truth and only one correct way.(which is fucking false. Takes a level of maturity and experience to realise it) For you right now, this is practically mental viol…

This is what I did. You don't forget it. It's part of your past now. All you can do is accept and forgive yourself, and then thank yourself for seeing shit for what it is and bringing you to this day. Wading your way out of that shit is something that very few people do.

Another important lesson: Protecting money is most of the time tougher than making it. I have too many collegues who are making bank but don't know how to preserve it.

Ayy fellow man. The only way is to forgive yourself. That beta fucked up a part of life. But that beta also put you through a process to become what you are today. Accept your past and then just forgive. It's not worth it to be mad about it.

You are lacking a "why" for your "what" For example: What: I go on a run everyday. Why: Because I want to run all ultras in my state What: I go to gym everyday. Why: Because I want to fit into that 48 inch chest shirt What: I want to make money. Why: Because I want xyz to happen in the world, and to make it happen, I need capital You'll need only a handful of whys. But you need them. Good whys are definite, and have a finish line. Making money just to stay financially independent is not a defini…

You don't have to bow down to everyone you respect. Mentor-protege is more like a father-son relationship than a boss-employee relationship. The key here is to find a mentor that you truly admire (this takes time and sometimes too much effort)
/r/askTRP29/01/21 04:26 AM

Adding: Rock solid self confidence comes from going through tough experiences and emerging victorious. There is no alternative to it. Try going out to make a story. Examples can be: hiking alone for 48 hours, or doing 4x4x48 that Goggins does etc. These are the things that you do to push yourself, not for getting attention or appreciation of others.

Adding to this, it's in the word itself guys Creeping means moving slowly. The guy approaches slowly: first he stalks, then he comes closes, then small random talks, then tries to touch and so on, like a plant slowly grabbing a tree's stem. If you like someone, don't stalk and creep. Develop some confidence and be direct & honest with your intentions.

You are thinking about it from the wrong angle. Once you understand the system's rules, you become free of it. Now you can think outside the box and game the system. You can find loopholes. This is an incredible amount of freedom to do what you want. For example: with time you'll see right through people in relationships (and people in general). This makes it much much easier to deal with people and romantic interests. You win the game to become free from it.

Write down stuff. I have no idea what mental illness you got, but the solution is universal: Write down things. The brain lies, don't depend on it to remember things. Write down what you want by the end of the year and them write down what habits you need to achieve them. Then become brainless slave to those habits. It's easier to do when what to do is clear. That's why you sit down and write specific goals. Adding to that: start a habit of some form of exercise. The brain imitates the body, the…

Your advice is bullshit. It's cute to say one word and not tell anything beyond it. The thing with mental illness is: The brain cannot even imagine that something can be done. It's very difficult to explain, but someone who has experience with a similar state will instantly get what I'm saying. A rough example I can think of is: People staying in an abusive relationship. The solution is to simply get out of it, but their brain cannot even imagine getting out as an option.

Adding to this: Fake it till you make it is a great way to get the cycle going. Then afterwards the long term rock solid confidence comes from a series of past accomplishments. It could be regularly smashing lifting goals, or regularly achieving good grades, or regularly increasing earnings. The list goes on. Make sure that when you look back, you see a series of past achievements.

For me, those outweigh my horse riding department. Similarly, you suck at the seduction department. Is it important? Yes. Is it essential for survival? No. Does it feel bad? Yes. Lying is not necessary. It never is. Lies come from a place of insecurity. Just be confident in yourself and next time any situation comes up, either play around it while denying information or be straight up honest; depending on the situation. If you are smart enough, you'll never need to lie. This is not just for relationships.

Try running It's a well rounded hobby and naturally leads to a toned body(but not suited for bodybuilders). I started it because of David Goggins. Has been a blast ever since. The best thing about is: there's a huge running community everywhere. It's great for socializing and finding new people. I've met tons of chicks and current friends through collective runs. Your friends are now a jealous haters. He earlier saw you on his level, and now sees you as what he too could have become. Most friends have to be changed with changing circumstances. And btw: We are not owed anything. If other's insults shouldn't bother us, their compliments too shouldn't bother us. How gives a rat's ass what they think about this from their much lower position.

Right now you are an insecure person who measures his self worth by seeing how much he can control. And whenever things come back to normal after 'going out of control', you lash out to convince yourself that you still are some hot shit. Constantly obsessing over power dynamics is not a path to happiness. You lack confidence in yourself, which no amount of gaming will solve. The relationship is bound to fail. And you got deeper issues: neediness and lack of confidence in self.

You lack a sense of tact and subtlety. There's a reason why people shouldn't talk more than what's required. Imagine your best friend is going out with the rest of his group behind your back, so he tells you that he cannot go out with you. Then the group cancels the plan. The friend hits you up and tells to your face that he's coming with you only because the other group ditched him. Of course you'll be pissed. Think a little. What's meditation? Initially it's training your subconscious brain to alert you when your mind wanders. That's what causes the calm: it automatically catches the mind when it wanders away. It's magical, and you don't even have to think about it once you get it. Meditation ends up rewiring your brain's default mode. So it takes time to kick in. Here's what to do/think about in orders of priority. I don't know you personally, but that doesn't change things. Write down everything on paper. Answer a question: Why should the posh, rich club accept you? Nobody is owed anything based on what he INTENDS to do You can only climb one step at a time: your current social level to the next immediate social level (unless a good mentor takes you in). Your best bet is: if you're in college, find and make friends with good potential. Simply become rich is a bad goal. The real goal should be becoming so good and well connected that becoming rich is inevitable.

There's a balance to it. I am not a bulky bodybuilding guy, but I train in athletics. The basic principles are the same. In one line: Being mindful of the body while training makes sure you don't overtrain. Having well thought out goals to hit make sure that you don't undertrain. Chalk out proper goals. The daily schedule works in direction of the goals. Knowing what weights to achieve in what weeks makes sure that you don't undertrain. Noticing that the muscles are going to get overloaded makes…

Another way of thinking about insecurity: Insecurity comes from having a problem and thinking that you aren't compensating for it well enough For example: A guy with a bad physique and short height will be sad about his height A guy with good physique and short height will not be sad about his height because he understands that he is at his peak Most of the people's anxieties comes from them knowing that they can do better in other areas and create the whole package, but aren't.

Boring schedules are never sustainable .A person can do focused work for 6 hours tops. The thing is not cutting off pastimes. It's replacing previous pastimes with new ones that are enjoyable for the long term and don't actively destroy you. Humans need some entertainment too. Clearly shows that you don't understand what deep mastery is. After doing something for a long time, you don't even have to think about it. It simply works for you like your eyes or fingers work for you. One someone reaches that point, breakthroughs start happening on a very frequent basis. Look at businessmen who have been in the game for a long time, look at old carpenters. Once you see it, you see it everywhere. A deep master dances in circles around others.

I'll plug in my story: I was living the typical beta failure life in a typical European country. I was using the excuse that once I grind enough, I'll move to USA and life will be good. Long story short, did the usual grinding and stuff and finally migrated. It turned out that I can escape entire countries, but I cannot escape my mind. Then went on to spend an entire year in deep fuckin pain. Please learn my lesson: you can escape circumstances, but you cannot escape yourself. Learn to be with y…

Once upon a time before covid, the small pubs in my area used to just let a mic loose before the weekends night's rush came in (the time period between the people pouring in and the dj setting up his booth). The mic used to simply be there waiting on a stand. No need to ring anyone up, just go on and do anything to your hostage audience. There are multiple places like this. No need to call up the comedy club if you're just beginning. How does one start doing standups? Get drunk, or act a bit dru…

I'll give it to you straight If every motivation in your life died the moment your financial problem got solved, then you weren't living a life. You were simply slaving away for money. Suddenly your life lost all purpose. Happened to a friend of mine after his company got sold. It's a common thing. Now he didn't really solve his problem, he simply set out to build another company because that's all he could think of. You got some deeper problems to deal with. Long distance running. Got into it after discovering David Goggins. There's something very satisfying about it. And it comes with a great community too. And best of all: it's incredibly cheap and accessible. And few months in, found that for some reason runners end up being chick magnets. That's a nice side effect. Still not a pro at it (haven't ran more than 120miles till date, need more practice). Current dream is to complete the iron man. If you have the terrain around you, rock climbing is a…

Repeat after me: To be interested is to be interesting. It can be the most boring thing in the world. But if you're highly interested in it, the other person becomes too. For example: Sometimes a song gets struck in our head because we saw someone else enjoying the hell out of it. Some months later we may realise that the song was actually mediocre. You are craving attention, you aren't truly trying to get interested in something. Fix that first.

Unless you have access to high quality people, Id recommend finding good podcasts. One example is: 'Go figure by gojek' I haven't been working since some months, and this sudden break gets me down heavily on random days. Just sitting and listening to podcasts helps in such days. Also: I've had many deeper insights on such days. The number of insights I get in my downtimes shoots up. For me it's a blessing in disguise.

Here's a way to think about things. Eventually, the way she sees you is the average of how everyone around you sees you. If you're a chump, everyone sees you as a chump, but you had a hell of a first impression on a girl: she will stick around for a while. After that, reality will catch up and you're back to chump. Then use a goal to make sure that your habit is efficient. Achieving goals is a side effect of setting good habits. Trim it up and keep it short (3mm max) and make sure the cheek lines are sharp. It'll look much hotter that way. Balance the beard game with a good haircut. An average should be a 5. But people perceive 7 as the average and hence a 6 as terrible. Human estimation is a weird thing. I just assume that someone is a 5, and then add points for good things I care for, like good face, nice body, amazing hair, good personality etc, or deduct points when those things are bad. The 3 foundational pillars of mental and physical health are: A healthy diet A fit body A reliable social circle 4 years ago, I was fine on 1, but my 2 was horrible and my 3 sucked. Those were the cause of my depression. What factors do you think are contributing to your depression?

I'll try an analogy here: Consider a sailor on his boat. In the beginning the sailor used to be scared everytime his boat rocked with any big wave, or when too much water got into the boat etc. With experience, the sailor understood how his boat floats, how it rocks with the waves, how it behaves. Now even when the seas get turbulent, the sailor remains calm because he understands his boat. He knows how it's going to move, which waves it'll tolerate, which waves will crush it etc. The sailor and…

Treat discipline as a habit of doing things that you need to do, even when you don't want to do them. Discipline comes naturally when you are really amped up by some goal you got. You got a clearly defined goal that you can break down and execute. That's easier to do. The tricky part is keeping discipline when you are in a limbo. When you don't have any goal to work at(everyone has those months in life), simply ration some hours of the day to do something you consider difficult. For example: Due…

I have the employee analogy for this. The company recruits an awesome employee with originality who can solve problems without guidance or attention. Turns out that the new employee thinks with his own head. The company managers don't like that ignorance of authority. Other employee resent his freedom. If you're asking around on the internet about it, trying to sense out the consensus, then you're not yet mature enough to decide. Also note that your outlook will be way more mature in late 20s than early 20s. Use protection, decide on 28th bday or something. By late 20s mind and life solidifies. If you do snip, get sperm solidified. Use protection and be careful. Also keep in mind that the majority of the people commenting here are wannabes typing out free advice.

You are one of them. Also the position you're in in actually enviable. You can go work at risky startups, your own businesses etc because you already come from nothing and barely got anything to lose compared to what you already got. Get non permanent ones to scratch off that itch. We used to get them at music festivals, always fun. You can always get them remade when they start to fade. A simple rule of thumb is: get permanent tattoos only to signify life changing events. And when you do, make sure you get high skill art. Only got one body.

You are bound to your circumstances. I was in a similar situation, but in my case it was my mother and the abuse was purely mental. At aroundthe age of 20, I accepted that I don't have a relationship with her and that it's just abuse. But after the initial 2-3 months of seeming 'happiness' I really didn't get my peace until I forgave her almost 4 years ago. It was a difficult thing to do and understand. I understood that I'mggonna outlive her by several decades; that she is what she is because s…

You seem new Instead of becoming a deer in the headlights, make a no expression face while you think up an answer. In your case, even expressionless silence could've been a good answer. Confidence comes from a series of consistent achievements. One way to gain it is to start measuring things and see the numbers improve. How much do you lift, progress pics of your physique, how many girls you closed etc. After a while the consistent/consistently rising numbers make the confidence naturally creep in, and then the numbers lose meaning and confidence becomes part of a personality. Only way your mind will accept things is if it sees improvement when you are applying them.
