Met a girl i knew from a while back working behind a bar one night, small talked her and then the next day she messages me on facebook. The next month or so is just me and her asking when each other is free, and we only managed to find time for each other a today. She met up with me for a quick drink at another bar for an hour.

She catches me un aware as im waiting for her on my phone, and just sits right down, don't have time to stand up and hug or whatever, but i'm kind of glad because i think i read somewhere on here it's not good to hug her straight away, that's just LJBF level stuff. So i think anyway.

She sits perpendicular to me on an L shaped corner seat. I did alot of teasing and joking, and brought up what i thought were interesting concepts and good talking points. Didn't turn it into an interview, i was doing most of the talking, telling stories and asking if she'd ever done this/that and saying shit like "I bet you know what that's like." Just generally trying to relate to her.

Then it went quiet.

I didn't try and blurt any shit that came to my mind out straight away, just casually glanced round the room, occasionally locked eyes with her, smiled, and repeated. This went on for a good minute or so.

Finally, I caved, and went into awkward say anything that comes to your head mode because the silence was killing me.

In the end i got her laughing quite a bit, but i felt like a joker, and the kino that i did do to her, was not reciprocated. At the end of the night i just gave her a hug and said see ya.

That was it. I don;t expect a call back or anything. Can you guys give me advice on how to handle a first date better next time.

Thanks.
