I just got back from a first date. I've only been on 2. I notice that it's very platonic and that the reason it is that way is solely my fault.

So I want to get some advice on ideas and thoughts I've been having.

1) should a first date have a lot of chat such as, "where are you from, how many siblings, what are your hobbies, etc"?

2) what is a reasonable amount of escalation to shoot for to keep her interested and maintain you as a sexual option?

3) My first date, is coffee and lawn games. I'm not trying to bang on first dates. Is this a good date idea in general to lead to a second date?

4) do you kiss at the end of a first date, have you had second dates without ending the first with a kiss?

I realize that I need more trial and error and experience. So I'm looking for guidance from someone whose had a lot of dates.
