Little bit about me before I dive into the issue at hand: 22, total virgin, hilariously socially inept, 6'2, look slim in clothes but actually skinnyfat, monitoring my diet, hitting the gym and seeing progress, decent or just slightly above average facial aesthetics.

I installed Tinder last week as an attempt to build up abundance mentality and break out of my comfort zone one step at a time, and it's been pretty much a massive fail so far. I do have good pictures and a short bio which says which Uni I'm attending, my height and that I like girls with blue eyes, threw that in there just to spice it up a little.

Got no matches for the first few days, then I matched with a girl who's like 40 miles away because I was bored one afternoon and extended the search range. It was an instant match, which means she liked me before I liked her. I dropped her a message soon afterwards with something along the lines of "hey (*insert name*) can you teleport, because Tinder just halved the distance between us and I could use that ability sometimes" *(before I swiped right the app said she was 40 miles away and after we matched it said she was 20 miles away, probably a bug or something but whatever)*. *Also don't roast me too much this is literally the first pick up line I've used in my entire life, sounded good when I thought of it but ever since then I cringe a bit when I remember it*. She responded by saying "Ooh, a *insert eastern European capital city here* boy", to which I replied "Ooh, a girl from a still unknown town", hoping she'd get the hint and respond by saying where she's from. 3 days later, still no response. In retrospect that was probably a terrible way of sliding into DMs and an even worse response to her message, but I'm trying my best here. Also she's still my only match and didn't unmatch me.

I'm just wondering whether or not I should try to initiate the convo again, since I'm not really aiming at f-closing ASAP, just at bettering my conversational skills with women and later go up the ladder and aim at relationship-y stuff.
