How old are you? We need more context. This kinda smells like high school or early college, but we need to know more about the age and experience of the girl as well as yourself.

Without more information - ask her on a date. Now. Asking her to spend time with you alone, having fun, makes a clear statement that you are into her as a woman, not as a friend and nothing works better to identify women who are not attracted to you.

Note: you can't "keep out of the friend zone." All the "friend zone" means is that she's not repelled by you socially, but doesn't find you attractive. And you can't negotiate that. Chances are, she's already decided. If you are seeing green flags, you a probably not in the friend zone.

But don't piss around. DATE the girl. If she's not attracted, you'll know really soon. Cut your losses and find another one.

Learn to swim. Don't try to learn how to not drown in 1 lake. Go out and approach, get the experience. You're not gonna magically get good with women without practice. Once you learn how to swim, you can go back to any lake you wish.
