I found that I had access to better quality Thai dates once I was language proficient. I don’t think that better integrating yourself into society hurts your frame.

I had better plates once I had language skills because fishing from the pool of those who hang around Sukhumvit and Nana and don’t expect me to have language skills was polluted with freelance hookers and desperate gold diggers who just lost their previous sponsor (beta provider). You would get a promo bang or two out of them but they are post-wall and not a good use of your time. They are shotgunning for the next beta buck.

From their perspective this also takes you out of the tourist pool and makes it more fun for them to date you.

It unlocks first year college girls and all that.

Keep learning Thai IMHO. It’s a valuable differentiator.

If you can make it playful and laugh at yourself, I think it could work well, especially if the girls speak English so you can enhance the humour after they heard you chatting shit in Thai.
