Long time lurker, first time poster. I'll try to make this as short and simple as possible. I'm 24, when I was in high school I used to orbit this girl, lets call her Ally. I would give her rides when she needed them, talk to her about her problems with her at the time red pill boyfriend, text her all the time, etc.

When I started going to college, I finally realized that this girl was using me as a "backup", and stopped all contact with her. Since then I have seen her at random parties, but do not really talk to her or acknowledge her when I do. I did notice at one party that she had a new "tampon" who replaced me.

Anyway, its been about two years since I last saw her, and I now am going out with another girl, have my own apartment, decent job, all that good stuff. I was out at a restaurant with my girlfriend and a couple of my guy friends yesterday, having a good time. Ally comes out of no where to say hi to me. She knew everyone else at the table, including my girlfriend, but only came up to say hi to me, we talked for a couple minutes, and then she went back to her table. She even ignored my one friend who tried to initiate a conversation with her. She seemed kind of nervous, and kept saying " well I just thought I would say hi." After seeing her I realized that I was still into her.

My question is, do you think the fact that she came up and only talked to me meant anything, or am I reading too into this? Also advice on how to handle a girl you formerly orbited would be awesome.
